FII’s Internship Programs
Feminism In India (FII) is an award-winning digital intersectional feminist platform to learn, educate and develop a feminist sensibility and unravel the F-word among the youth in India. It aims to become a one-stop platform for everything related to feminism in India. FII offers full-time office based paid internships and part-time online unpaid internships. The internships are open to both students and young professionals. Read closely before applying!
Editor’s Note: We have a strong no-appropriation editorial policy, please read about it here. Feminism In India is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer and strongly encourages Dalit, Bahujan and Adivasi writers, as well as gender non-binary, trans writers and people with disabilities.
1. Online Internship
FII offers work-from-anywhere internship program to students and professionals alike. The internship program aims to develop and deepen one’s understanding of feminism while providing skill-based training on writing and communication, digital and social media, online publishing and advocacy and campaigning.
The nine-week program will be a relevant work experience for people looking for a career in the media and social sector or to just engage with feminism, gender, sexuality, caste and other relevant topics. Interns only need a regularly functioning internet connection and a computer/laptop & smart phone and would be expected to commit 2-3 hours daily depending on the work tasks. After successful completion of the internship, interns will receive a certificate of work experience and a letter of recommendation on request. Feedback will be a two-way process where the focus would be to improve the internship experience.
Note: We will take only six interns for two months. We might expand as the need be, in the later stages. FII is an independent feminist media organisation and we would be unable to pay the interns; however, we’ll make sure that the internship experience is enriching in feminist-centric research, journalism and communications. FII believes in affirmative action and women from marginalised sections are strongly encouraged to apply.
